Spanish PSA Campaign to Recruit Spanish Speakers – Peace Corps
The Peace Corps has worked with TV Access for over a decade, creating and distributing public service announcements (PSAs) in a variety of media formats. In 2007, the Peace Corps enlisted TV Access’ help with an initiative to recruit Spanish-speaking volunteers.
We honed our distribution strategy using market intelligence on the PSA preferences of Hispanic radio stations from our comprehensive database. To increase airings, packaging and our post launch outreach were modified to account for differences between dialects and geographic segments. With this in mind, this public service announcement was distributed to 589 Spanish-speaking in 86 markets across America.
The Peace Corps was delighted by the campaign’s results. Over the course of the campaign, this PSA was over 6,000 times, generating 8.5 million impressions and almost $400,000 in equivalent media value. Moreover, all these impressions came within a very narrow audience segment.
