TV and Radio PSA Campaigns – Federal Student Aid
Federal Student Aid, an office of the Department of Education, provides financial assistance to students trying to continue their education beyond high school. One of the program’s biggest challenges is that it is unknown by many of the students who need help most. To break down this communications gap, TV Access was engaged to distribute public service announcements to increase awareness of this program amongst eligible students as effectively as possible.
To best reach the campaign’s broad target audience of high school students and parents, television and radio public service announcements were produced and distributed in both English and Spanish. These messages highlighted the program’s resources and explained how students could apply for assistance online. Radio PSAs were distributed to over 7,000 stations in over two hundred media markets. Likewise, video PSAs were distributed to over 1,500 TV and cable stations in the same markets.
Federal Student Aid was so pleased with the results from the campaign that it expanded its use of public service announcements and continues to use TV Access for public service announcement distribution.
